I currentlly have a 60gal hf compressor and have yet to hook it up:( I am trying to wire it right now , I'm not sure which hot goes to what and where my neutral or ground go. The setup is two leads which are labeled motor and two which are labeled line:confused: . I am not sure how to hook my 220 wire up to the compressor, I have a four wire line by the way if that matters, it is red(hot),black(hot),white(neutral) and bare ground. How can I hook this up, any answers would be appreciated:)

If you can take a pic of it real quick, I can prob help you. Im sure you want the two labelled "line".

Frostje for that compressor you only need 3 wire from your breaker box.

All you do is get a double pole breaker and use a red and a black . They go to the line side of the pressure switch. The bare wire goes to the grd bar in the breaker panel and to the grd screw on the pressure switch.

The compressor motor wires hook up to the motor or load terminals on your switch. If your motor has a ground wire hook it up to the ground terminal.

What HP is your compressor the 3.5 or 5 hp ? Mooch

Dont even worry about that rating stuff . The only thing that matters is how much air it puts out and your compressor puts out enough.

I only asked because of breaker size. You need a 40 amp double pole breaker for that compressor. I dont know what wire size you bought but #10 is the smallest you should go . Good luck and if you have to wire up with the main breaker on just make sure the breaker your installing is off until your done. Mooch
