Why use a stud welder?
Because holes lessen the integrity of the panel in which they are drilled and the stud welder allows you to repair a dent from the outside without having to drill or punch holes in the metal. This is a MAJOR consideration when doing a repair because no matter how well the repairs are done, by putting holes in the metal moisture can attack the repaired area from behind.

All Stud welders are NOT created equally.
Before I purchased my Uni-Spotter stud welder several years ago I researched the products that were on the market and found that many had poor quality transformers or switches while others had poorly designed accessories and gun housings. The Uni-Spotter was the best at that time and is still the best product that I know of for the money spent. The transformersare custom designed for the work and the tools couldn't be better if I designed them myself. Other manufacturers use off the shelf transformers and accessories that make repairs much more difficult and the tool less reliable.
Below are three models of Uni-Spotter stud welder kits one
for every level of use from the Hobbyist to the Pro.
